The Story

Movement science, made practical.

For Tony Rodriguez, movement is more than exercise: it is the foundation of how we experience life. Tony's path into fitness began with curiosity about human mechanics, how the body adapts, heals and builds strength when guided by proper science. That led to a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from California State University, Long Beach, and a national certification through the International Sports Sciences Association (ISSA).

Tony became a personal trainer to bridge the gap between complex movement science and practical, everyday health. Too many workouts focus only on intensity without considering joint health or biomechanics, and Tony's mission is an evidence-based, sustainable approach to strength that builds a resilient body.

Credentials

Kinesiology degree, ISSA certified, fully insured.

Tony holds a B.S. in Kinesiology from California State University, Long Beach, an ISSA Certified Personal Trainer credential, and CPR and AED certification from the American Heart Association through Breakwater Aquatics. Tony is also fully insured for private and studio coaching.

Tony is a certified personal trainer, not a medical provider or physical therapist. If you are coming back from an injury, Tony works alongside your physical therapist or doctor rather than in place of them.

The Specialty

Joint-friendly strength and movement quality.

Tony's training focus covers four areas: joint-friendly strength and conditioning, which builds lean muscle and functional strength while protecting joint longevity; movement screening and posture correction, which identifies compensations to improve everyday mobility; post-rehab and injury prevention, which helps clients transition from physical therapy back to full physical performance; and structured body composition and nutrition tracking through data-driven macronutrient and training plans.

Explore strength and conditioning, mobility and rehab and nutrition coaching at Trinity.

The Philosophy

Fitness that empowers your life, not breaks it down.

Tony believes fitness should empower your life, not break your body down. The approach blends sport psychology, biomechanics and personalized exercise prescription. Every exercise serves a specific purpose, with no random workouts or generic routines. By teaching the why behind each movement, Tony helps clients build biomechanical efficiency, confidence and long-term autonomy over their fitness.

What To Expect

Screen first, then load.

Training with Tony at Trinity means a welcoming, structured and professional environment, in three steps. First, a comprehensive intake and movement screening: Tony evaluates posture, joint range of motion and movement baseline before loading any exercise. Second, custom programming, with every session tailored to your goals, current strength level and joint mechanics. Third, progressive coaching and accountability, with digital tracking through the Trinity online app keeping your workouts organized and your progress measurable week after week.

Sessions run on The Floor. Tony offers 1-on-1 in-person personal training, movement and postural assessments, and hybrid and digital coaching through Trainerize.

Purpose, Faith & Community

Values that shape the coaching.

Trinity's values of Purpose, Faith and Community align with how Tony coaches and lives. Purpose means every session is intentional and moves you toward your goals with clarity. Faith means encouraging clients to trust the process, stay consistent and discover the strength they were created to have. Community means an approachable, encouraging space where everyone feels valued and inspired to grow.

Outside the gym, Tony enjoys exploring local dining spots in Long Beach, traveling internationally and playing video games.

STRENGTH & CONDITIONING
AT TRINITY.

All Strength & Conditioning trainers →

Strength is the foundation everything else stacks on. Trinity's strength & conditioning trainers build athletes, professionals, and lifelong residents who want to move heavy, recover hard, and keep doing it for decades.

01

ASSESSMENT FIRST

Movement screen, training history, current lifts. Your trainer builds the program around your body — not a template they hand to every client.

02

PROGRESSIVE OVERLOAD THAT HOLDS UP

Programmed cycles with deloads built in. You'll see the numbers move week over week without burning out.

03

CONDITIONING THAT DOESN'T KILL YOUR LIFTS

Energy-system work paired with strength training, not against it. Capacity grows. Recovery improves. Strength stays.

04

TRAINING ON THE FLOOR

Hands-on cues, video review, real-time form correction. Every session has a trainer who's watching.

Who Tony’s clients tend to be

  • Lifters chasing real PRs — not gym numbers
  • Athletes whose sport demands repeatable power
  • Professionals returning to the iron after years away
  • Anyone tired of training without a program
