The Story

Coaching since 2013, leading at Trinity.

Ben Meneses has worked in the fitness industry since 2013. The experience spans personal training, fitness management, athletic development and mentoring other coaches. Before joining Trinity in July 2022, Ben spent more than nine years at 24 Hour Fitness as a personal trainer and assistant fitness manager.

Over the years the passion for coaching has grown beyond helping people complete workouts. What drives Ben today is helping people understand their bodies, build confidence in their abilities and set the foundation for lasting progress. Great coaching, in Ben's view, is about making complex ideas simple enough for anyone to understand and apply.

The Philosophy

Move well. Move more. Move more weight.

That philosophy guides everything Ben does. The fundamentals are the foundation of exceptional performance: before chasing heavier weights, faster times or more advanced movements, a client needs quality movement, coordination, stability and strength. Ben emphasizes exercise selection, movement mechanics, motor learning and progressive overload, so every exercise has a purpose and every progression is earned.

One of Ben's favorite ideas to teach is learning how to learn. When clients understand why they are doing something, they become more confident, capable and independent. Ben also believes consistency and frequency matter more than occasional bursts of extreme intensity.

Specialties

Strength, athletes and everyday people.

Ben's coaching covers strength and conditioning, youth athletic development, basketball performance, HYROX and endurance performance, body composition and hypertrophy, and movement education and mobility. Clients range from beginners and general fitness clients to competitive athletes looking to elevate performance.

Explore strength and conditioning, athletic performance, HYROX and bodybuilding and hypertrophy training at Trinity, and the youth basketball program, which includes club-level development with TeamG Girls Basketball and Cali Gold Boys Basketball.

Athletes & Results

Athletic potential is everywhere.

Ben has coached young basketball players through meaningful gains in strength and jumping performance, including an athlete who progressed to a 155-pound deadlift and a 36-inch box jump while refining jumping mechanics, as well as HYROX athletes building conditioning, clients building strength and muscle, and individuals learning to move more confidently despite previous physical limitations. Individual results vary.

Ben also competes: having completed the HYROX New York Men's Open in 1:15:03, Ben understands the balance between strength, aerobic capacity, recovery and performance, and brings that firsthand experience into coaching while recognizing that every athlete's needs are different.

What To Expect

Educator first, rep counter never.

Ben explains what you are doing, why you are doing it and how it connects to your goals. Sessions emphasize proper preparation, movement quality, purposeful strength and conditioning and measurable progression, with exercises adapted to your abilities rather than forcing you into a program that does not fit. In Ben's words, the goal is not to make you tired but to make you better.

Leadership & Community

Developing coaches, building community.

As Lead Personal Trainer at Trinity, Ben's responsibilities extend beyond personal clients. Ben is passionate about developing other trainers, sharing knowledge and helping coaches become more effective communicators and educators, emphasizing fundamentals, progressions and regressions, and meaningful client relationships.

Trinity's values of Purpose, Faith and Community provide the foundation: in Ben's coaching, purpose means every session and exercise has intention, and community means clients and trainers supporting one another, celebrating progress and continuing to learn together.

Is Ben Right For You?

Is Ben the right trainer for you?

Ben is a strong fit if any of these sound like you:

  • You are a beginner learning to squat, or returning to training, and want a coach who explains the why.
  • You are a young basketball player or athlete developing speed, jumping ability and strength.
  • You are training for HYROX and want strength, running efficiency and race-specific conditioning in one plan.
  • You want to build muscle and improve body composition with sustainable habits.
  • You want a coach who adapts the program to you instead of the other way around.

STRENGTH & CONDITIONING
AT TRINITY.

All Strength & Conditioning trainers →

Strength is the foundation everything else stacks on. Trinity's strength & conditioning trainers build athletes, professionals, and lifelong residents who want to move heavy, recover hard, and keep doing it for decades.

01

ASSESSMENT FIRST

Movement screen, training history, current lifts. Your trainer builds the program around your body — not a template they hand to every client.

02

PROGRESSIVE OVERLOAD THAT HOLDS UP

Programmed cycles with deloads built in. You'll see the numbers move week over week without burning out.

03

CONDITIONING THAT DOESN'T KILL YOUR LIFTS

Energy-system work paired with strength training, not against it. Capacity grows. Recovery improves. Strength stays.

04

TRAINING ON THE FLOOR

Hands-on cues, video review, real-time form correction. Every session has a trainer who's watching.

Who Ben’s clients tend to be

  • Lifters chasing real PRs — not gym numbers
  • Athletes whose sport demands repeatable power
  • Professionals returning to the iron after years away
  • Anyone tired of training without a program
