The Story

A kinesiology educator on the training floor.

Brandon Watson is a kinesiology professional, educator and strength and conditioning coach. That background shapes how Brandon sees fitness: training is about more than lifting weights, changing your appearance or chasing a number on the scale. It is about understanding how the body moves, developing physical capability, building confidence and making health a sustainable part of everyday life.

As a college kinesiology instructor, strength and conditioning coach and personal trainer, Brandon brings both an educational perspective and a hands-on coaching style to The Floor at Trinity Training Facility in Long Beach. The goal is results you can see, and an understanding of the process behind them.

The Approach

Start with the individual, not a generic program.

Brandon believes effective training starts with the person: background, fitness level, schedule, motivation and goals. The coach's job is to understand those differences and build an approach that meets you where you are while moving you toward where you want to be.

Sessions emphasize movement quality, proper technique, progressive overload and purposeful exercise selection, with foundational movement patterns, multiple planes of motion, strength development and conditioning building a well-rounded base. Under the FitWithBWats approach, the whole process counts: consistency, strength, conditioning, movement, recovery, nutrition habits and accountability.

The Specialty

Strength, performance and boxing conditioning.

Brandon's coaching spans strength development, athletic performance, functional fitness, boxing-based training and general physical conditioning. As strength and conditioning coach for college women's flag football, Brandon works where movement efficiency, strength, speed, conditioning and confidence all decide performance.

Brandon also teaches boxing and self-defense fundamentals: stance, footwork, punching mechanics, defensive movement and awareness. Explore strength and conditioning, athletic performance and boxing training at Trinity, including sessions in The Ring.

Coaching As Teaching

Know what you are doing, and why.

Education is a core part of how Brandon coaches. When you understand the principles behind your training, you make better decisions, recognize your progress and gain confidence in keeping your results. Brandon's teaching work includes introducing beginners to resistance training, developing lifting technique, teaching exercise safety and applying strength and conditioning principles to sport.

A good coach, in Brandon's view, explains movements clearly, gives useful feedback and recognizes when someone needs a different approach. The aim is not to make you dependent on a trainer but to make you more knowledgeable, capable and confident on your own.

What To Expect

Technique first, purposeful progress.

Expect a coaching relationship built around your goals, clear communication and consistent effort. You will build a foundation, identify areas to improve and follow a plan that fits your needs. Brandon values proper technique over rushing, purposeful progress over random workouts and sustainable habits over short-term fixes.

Accountability comes with encouragement. Progress is not only measured on the scale: it can mean moving with more confidence, lifting more efficiently, performing better in your sport or building habits that make everyday life easier.

Purpose, Faith & Community

Values that shape the coaching.

Trinity's values of Purpose, Faith and Community frame the environment Brandon wants to build. Purpose means every session has a reason and every progression serves a goal. Faith shows up as commitment to growth, perseverance, humility and serving others. Community means nobody has to pursue fitness alone.

Outside coaching and teaching, family comes first for Brandon, and being a father shapes how Brandon thinks about health and leading by example. Brandon also creates fitness and educational content that helps people understand training, nutrition and healthy habits.

Is Brandon Right For You?

Is Brandon the right trainer for you?

  • You are an athlete who wants strength, speed and conditioning that carry over to your sport.

STRENGTH & CONDITIONING
AT TRINITY.

All Strength & Conditioning trainers →

Strength is the foundation everything else stacks on. Trinity's strength & conditioning trainers build athletes, professionals, and lifelong residents who want to move heavy, recover hard, and keep doing it for decades.

01

ASSESSMENT FIRST

Movement screen, training history, current lifts. Your trainer builds the program around your body — not a template they hand to every client.

02

PROGRESSIVE OVERLOAD THAT HOLDS UP

Programmed cycles with deloads built in. You'll see the numbers move week over week without burning out.

03

CONDITIONING THAT DOESN'T KILL YOUR LIFTS

Energy-system work paired with strength training, not against it. Capacity grows. Recovery improves. Strength stays.

04

TRAINING ON THE FLOOR

Hands-on cues, video review, real-time form correction. Every session has a trainer who's watching.

Who Brandon’s clients tend to be

  • Lifters chasing real PRs — not gym numbers
  • Athletes whose sport demands repeatable power
  • Professionals returning to the iron after years away
  • Anyone tired of training without a program
