The Story

Building strength beyond the gym.

David Escobedo, known as Coach Esco, trains clients at Trinity Training Facility in Long Beach with one mission: help people become stronger physically, mentally and personally through fitness, discipline and intentional living.

For Coach Esco, fitness has always been about more than the mirror. It is about becoming someone who faces challenges, keeps promises to themselves and shows up with confidence everywhere. Whether the goal is losing body fat, building muscle, improving conditioning or preparing for a competition, the process should make you a stronger version of yourself.

The Competitor

Marathons, HYROX and 11 minutes found.

Coach Esco's own training taught him that real growth happens past the point of comfort. Strength training, endurance running and HYROX competition built both physical endurance and mental toughness.

After his first HYROX race, he kept training to improve and eventually took roughly 11 minutes off his original finishing time. That experience is central to how he coaches: identify weaknesses, commit to the work and trust the process.

HYROX At Trinity

Small-group HYROX training, every level welcome.

Coach Esco leads small-group HYROX training at Trinity for people of different fitness levels, whether you are preparing for a first race or just want a challenging workout. Training combines running, strength work, sled training and erg conditioning to prepare for the demands of hybrid fitness competition.

Training Specialties

Strength, fat loss and conditioning.

Coach Esco builds well-rounded fitness through personalized programming. Areas of focus:

  • Strength training and muscle development: building strength, improving technique and developing lean muscle.
  • Fat loss and body composition: sustainable training and nutrition habits that support a healthier physique.
  • HYROX and hybrid performance: running, strength, sled and erg work for hybrid competition.
  • Conditioning and endurance: cardiovascular fitness, work capacity and sustained effort.
  • Functional fitness: overall physical capability through purposeful, goal-oriented training.
  • Mindset and accountability: consistency, confidence and the discipline to follow through.

The Philosophy

No perfect program. Your program.

Coach Esco does not believe in one perfect program for everyone. Your training should reflect your starting point, goals, schedule and needs. His approach combines structured programming with accountability and continuous improvement, and explains why you are doing each thing so you become more confident and independent.

Mindset matters as much as the plan. Motivation comes and goes, but consistent habits create momentum. Expect to be pushed when you need it, helped to adjust when life gets demanding and encouraged to keep showing up when progress feels slow.

Purpose & Faith

Values that go past the workout.

Coach Esco's Christian faith is an important part of his life. He believes purpose, discipline and how we treat others matter as much as physical achievement, and that fitness is a daily chance to practice those values.

That fits Trinity's values of Purpose, Faith and Community: the objective is not just finishing a workout, but becoming more capable, resilient and confident over time.

STRENGTH & CONDITIONING
AT TRINITY.

All Strength & Conditioning trainers →

Strength is the foundation everything else stacks on. Trinity's strength & conditioning trainers build athletes, professionals, and lifelong residents who want to move heavy, recover hard, and keep doing it for decades.

01

ASSESSMENT FIRST

Movement screen, training history, current lifts. Your trainer builds the program around your body — not a template they hand to every client.

02

PROGRESSIVE OVERLOAD THAT HOLDS UP

Programmed cycles with deloads built in. You'll see the numbers move week over week without burning out.

03

CONDITIONING THAT DOESN'T KILL YOUR LIFTS

Energy-system work paired with strength training, not against it. Capacity grows. Recovery improves. Strength stays.

04

TRAINING ON THE FLOOR

Hands-on cues, video review, real-time form correction. Every session has a trainer who's watching.

Who David’s clients tend to be

  • Lifters chasing real PRs — not gym numbers
  • Athletes whose sport demands repeatable power
  • Professionals returning to the iron after years away
  • Anyone tired of training without a program
