The Story

From self-taught lifter to coach.

Sterling Ardrey-Baty started lifting during COVID to get in shape and begin a self-improvement journey, training on and off for about a year and making the mistakes most beginners make. When friends and family started asking for advice, that pushed Sterling toward becoming a trainer.

Sports were part of Sterling's life all through adolescence, so athletic training was always part of who Sterling is. Four years later, Sterling runs Innergizex with one goal: help everyday people become athletes, for sport and for life.

Experience

Bootcamps, private training and youth athletes.

Sterling is a certified personal trainer whose experience includes coaching and training at Fitness 19, Fit Body Bootcamp and Barry's Bootcamp, plus work with youth athletes in basketball, track and field, cricket and soccer.

That mix of environments and age groups shaped how Sterling coaches: adapting to the person in front of them, whether a beginner or an experienced athlete. See how youth athlete training is organized at Trinity.

The Specialty

Functional strength for the things you love.

Sterling's focus is functional strength: building the strength, conditioning and durability to perform in the activities you care about. Right now that includes several runners preparing for half and full marathons, as well as clients improving overall health and body composition.

The Philosophy

Confidence comes from consistent work.

Sterling is big on self-belief and coaches clients to develop an athlete's mindset: showing up, trusting the process and pushing toward bigger goals. The aim is self-confidence that carries into every part of life, not just the gym.

What To Expect

Structured 60-minute sessions, tracked in Trainerize.

Sessions run 60 minutes in three formats: one-on-one, semi-private (2:1) and small group (up to 4:1). Every session follows a clear structure: a dynamic warm-up and soft tissue activation, then compound lifts and isolation work, building muscle, strengthening tendons and making your body resilient for whatever athletic challenge comes next.

Each client gets a personalized program with nutritional guidance and a cardio protocol. Sterling manages programming, check-ins, weigh-ins, meal plans and habit tracking through Trainerize, so you always know where you stand.

STRENGTH & CONDITIONING
AT TRINITY.

All Strength & Conditioning trainers →

Strength is the foundation everything else stacks on. Trinity's strength & conditioning trainers build athletes, professionals, and lifelong residents who want to move heavy, recover hard, and keep doing it for decades.

01

ASSESSMENT FIRST

Movement screen, training history, current lifts. Your trainer builds the program around your body — not a template they hand to every client.

02

PROGRESSIVE OVERLOAD THAT HOLDS UP

Programmed cycles with deloads built in. You'll see the numbers move week over week without burning out.

03

CONDITIONING THAT DOESN'T KILL YOUR LIFTS

Energy-system work paired with strength training, not against it. Capacity grows. Recovery improves. Strength stays.

04

TRAINING ON THE FLOOR

Hands-on cues, video review, real-time form correction. Every session has a trainer who's watching.

Who Sterling’s clients tend to be

  • Lifters chasing real PRs — not gym numbers
  • Athletes whose sport demands repeatable power
  • Professionals returning to the iron after years away
  • Anyone tired of training without a program
